Alcohol deaths grow by 30% in a year in the United States, the highest rate in the last 40 years

Alcohol deaths in the United States have increased during the pandemic. In the last two decades it has had an upward trend, increasing each year by around 7%. However, by 2020, deaths from alcohol-related illnesses have increased by 23 per cent in 49,000 people, 13 per 100,000 inhabitants.
