After two decades as the first ballerina of the German ballet Stuttgart, Alicia Amatriain (San Sebastian, 1980) leaves the scenes. The hip injury and maternity have encouraged the decision. The German ballet has announced the farewell of Amatriain indicating that for this purpose the Onegin ballet is being prepared for the month of July. In fact, Amatriain debuted as a high-level dancer with Onegin, dancing the role of Tatiana.

She started dancing at the age of 4. He studied at the Conservatory of San Sebastian from 1985 to 1994, under the direction of Peter Brown. At the age of 14 he entered the German school of John Cranko in Stuttgart, in 1998 he entered as a meritorist in the ballet of Stuttgart and then entered as a demian soloist in the dance group. He finally jumped in 2002 as a soloist, until today.

Amatriain dismisses his long career as a dancer, with many recognitions and awards over these years. In February 2006 he received, among others, the German dance award "Etorkizuna 2006". Two months later, the Gipuzkoa Professional Dance Association awarded him the "2006 Revelation Award". In 2009 he received three awards in Italy: ApuliaArte Award “Merit”, prize for the best dancer ‘Danza & Danza’ and Positano Award “Léonide Massine”. In 2015 he received the Fausto and Kammertänzerin awards in Germany and in 2016 Benois de la Danse, the Oscar for Dance.
