Yesterday, the National Council of the French Socialist Party approved the entry into the New Green and Social Public Front for the June legislative elections. After a warm debate, they agree to enter the new "popular front", with 62.3% of votes in favour.
They want to deal with the rise of ultra-right and conservative forces, with the aim of winning the elections and turning Jean-Luc Mélenchon into Prime Minister.
With this agreement a four-pole front will be presented to the elections: Socialist Party, Communist Party, France Insumiso (France Insumiso, Parti de Gauche, Ensemble, Picardie Debout and Révolution Écologique pour le Vivant) and Polo Ecologista (Les Verts, Les Nouveaux Democrates, Generation and Generratations).

The French Socialist Party is in the worst situation in history, as in the last presidential elections it has had the worst result in history, as Anne Hidalgo received only 1.9% of the votes. The 2017 presidential elections were the worst until then, as Benoît Hamon received only 6.36% of the votes.
In this serious situation, the National Council of the Socialist Party has decided to join the New Local Union, among the rumours that the party is about to disappear.
