In the Aita Menni de Arrasate, five workers have been infected: four from the administration and one from the wards.

From the health centre they have confirmed that the administration staff works in an isolated area and that they do not maintain any contact with patients or visitors. The fifth case is that of a worker working in a reception centre in the Ertzaintza. Aita Menni leads some of the patients who have the autonomy to live on their own in the supervised homes, where the workers go to give occasional help. The five workers at the Bilbao fire station have confirmed their status as asymptomatic.

Recently, all hospital staff have been tested for COVID-19 – serological and PCR – and contagion has been reported. All five of them tested positive for PCR and tested negative for serology.

According to the hospital officials, the administrative staff area is not located in the hospital building, but in an isolated area. In this regard, they have reported that the area has been "properly disinfected", and added that many workers in the area worked from their homes.

The five workers affected by COVID-19 have been confirmed as asymptomatic and are currently isolated in their homes. In contrast, nine patients living in two sheltered homes have been transferred to a hospital as a preventive measure to avoid complications. This is an isolated unit with its own access and no other type of patients, as reported by the Department.

At the moment visits to the hospital are interrupted and in constant contact with the Department of Health of the Basque Government, in order to "respond in a coordinated way".
