The NGO Humanitarian Marine Rescue has reported to the media: “The landing of 50 people has been completed smoothly. After tests done against COVID-19, all of them have been negative. On behalf of the rescued people, thank you very much to all the institutions, especially the CNC, for trying to get the landing permit as soon as possible.”

Need for a landing mechanism
The organisation has once again reminded the European Union that migrants and asylum seekers need a landing mechanism that guarantees their rights from the moment they are rescued at sea. In addition, the organisation has called on the European Union to reformulate the visa system in order to prevent the choice of the lethal maritime route and to bring its life into play, thus ensuring safe migration routes.
