The Minister of Transport, Raquel Sánchez, and the Councillor for Territorial Planning, Housing and Transport of the Basque Government, Iñaki Arriola, have analysed the state of the works of the Basque Y at a meeting held this Thursday in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Among other things, they referred to the entries to the APR in Vitoria-Gasteiz and Bilbao, among others. In both capitals, the underground arrival of the high-speed train to Euskadi and Navarre has been confirmed. To this end, the Basque Government will take over the works, as it has done with the Gipuzkoan section.

However, Sánchez has explained that work is under way on interim solutions so as not to delay the implementation of the TAV route until the underground accesses of Vitoria and Bilbao are completed. A temporary access station to Bilbao will connect with the local train of Basauri. In the case of Vitoria-Gasteiz, the high-speed train would reach the current Dato Street train station.
