The United States sends depleted uranium munitions to Ukraine. They will be tank explosives and, according to US Secretary Antony Blink, they are heavier than conventional and "very effective" artillery against armour.

Some senior US military officials say they have no radioactive risks, but Russia does not believe it. Sergei Riabkov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, has defined U.S. dispatch as "criminal action." "Washington's disregard for the environmental consequences is reflected in the use of such munitions in the fighting territories."
