As you know, 6 December is the day of the vote on the Constitution of the Spanish State. This Constitution regulates many issues, but as far as languages are concerned, a single word suffices with “duty” to maintain and preserve secular oppression in the future. “Spanish is the Spanish language of the State. All Spaniards have a duty to know it and the right to use it.” And it's over! Right of use, but compulsory knowledge. This phrase is not a pure phrase, a set of letters written on the pages that support everything. The philosophy of this phrase has embraced the entire legal body created by the Spanish State in the last half century, the linguistic policy of all the institutions, the judgments of the courts, and the linguistic practice of most political and other actors. All this armor has firmly maintained the hegemony of Spanish and, to the detriment of it, the subordination of the Basque Country (and the other minority languages of the State). This was also tied and well tied.
After this phrase, the Constitution recognises the other languages that depend on the State, but to the extent that they are Spanish languages (supposedly). Just as before the creation of the concept “Spain” has already been spoken here in Euskera. The Constitution introduces our language into the sack of Spain and only through it are we recognized certain rights (putting into question the possibility of using the Basque language). The powers of the State understand these rights as a generous donation that offers us, therefore, subordinate to the status of priority of Spanish.

We could make a similar reflection to what is said in the French Constitution: “La langue de la République est le français”. And it's over! The following are indicated: “Les langues régional apiennent au patrimoine de la France”. As if they were the strange decorative elements of France, not the languages of the peoples of origin.
Both imperialist and colonialist feelings and activities. To put an end to the peoples and languages in which they are both subjected, in an immense subordinate supremacy.
After this lynched persecution by the Spanish and French states led us to the almost disappearance of the Basque Country in the twentieth century, thanks to the enormous effort made by the Vascophiles during the last half of the century, we managed to uncover the Basque Country and we have partially recovered the territories and functions taken away. But the Basque country has no guarantee of the future at all. Neither the future nor the present, because the Basque is not normalized and the Basques cannot live entirely in Basque.
For EHE, language policies and current legal frameworks have given what they had to do and it is time to make the leap to another legal framework. The EHE considers that the essential condition for dealing with the challenges and threats on the horizon with minimum guarantees and for building a shield to protect the Basques from the continuing linguistic imposition of states is to acquire full sovereignty. In other words, without any external intervention, it is only in the Basque Country that we have to decide what kind of linguistic policy we want to develop here. To this end, the achievement of an independent Republic of the Basque Country is essential. Only in this way will we be able to rebuild the Basque Country.
Year after year we Abertzales have stated that we have nothing to celebrate on days such as 6 December. On the contrary, these days have been days of mobilisation, of claiming our rights. To this end, Euskal Herrian Euskaraz also invites Basque and Basque nationalism this year. On December 6 we have to fill the streets of Durango to claim a Republic of the Basque Country that is Euskaldun, free and egalitarian.
