The Government of Navarra will especially monitor illegal tourist housing for San Fermín
  • The owner of an illegal tourist house can be punished with EUR 9,000. In 2022, the government has punished 23 headlines and removed over 70 clandestine ads on websites. According to the Txibite government, the aim is to maintain adequate standards, eliminate clandestine activity, guarantee the rights of tourists and achieve homogeneous legislation.

The Government of Navarra announces "more" inspections of clandestine accommodation for San Fermín. The homeowner may be penalised with a fine of up to EUR 9,000 if he does not comply with the established measures.

According to the Government of Navarra, under the Tourism Inspection Plan 2022-2023 2022.urtean it has carried out 375 verification actions to monitor the supply of tourist apartments and clandestine housing. In total, the Government of Navarra sanctioned 23 accommodation holders in 2022. It has also removed over 70 clandestine ads on platforms and websites.

The actions envisaged are aimed at maintaining adequate tourist quality standards in the facilities and in the provision of the service; eliminating clandestine activity to achieve intrusiveness and unfair competition; guaranteeing the rights of tourists; and achieving a uniform application of tourism legislation by establishing common inspection standards.

To carry out these activities, the Administration has prepared information, made available to individuals, neighbours and the sector itself. They identify establishments carrying out illegal activities.
