The Durango Fair will be held from 7 to 11 December in regular format
  • This year, the fair will be back in the normal format, but will retain the option to buy online. After the difficult times, the organizers announce that this year is the time to "celebrate" it. Ruben Ramos depicts an "explosion" in the poster.

The Durango Fair recovers normal after the unusual times of the pandemic. Between 7 and 11 December Landakogunea will be full of culture and in addition to face-to-face selling, it will offer the possibility to buy online. “EztanDA” will be the motto of this 57 edition: “An explosion that will spread throughout Durango and throughout Euskal Herria,” said Nerea Mujika, president of the Gerediaga association.

From this idea, the poster designer Ruben Ramos has given the impression of a “big bang” to the fair, with a broad noise around it. You can see it's going to be a colorful edition.

Because it cannot be denied that the previous two years were rather dark. Nerea Mujika confesses that it was not easy: “We found that we did the fair or not, and thanks to the support of many creators, actors, culture buffs and sponsors we managed to get the fair subsidised.” That’s why he has announced that it’s time to celebrate, and for this the “whole universe” of the fair returns.

This year the organizers have good prospects. On the first day, thousands of students await taking advantage of Student Day. For the third consecutive year, "PortaDA!" A challenge has been organised for primary and ESO and baccalaureate students, and workshops for educators have been organized for the first time.

During the following five days, the doors shall be open to different spaces: Iruenea, Saguganbara, Ahotsenea, Kabi@, Talaia and Szenatokia. The news reports that the concerts of Ahotsenea will be held in Plateruena. Now it's closed, but Durango's mayor Ima Garrastatxu has assured it will be open to the public at least during the fair. The option to buy online will be maintained and you will also be able to watch the streaming live stream.

Once the fair is over, several bookstores in Euskal Herria will be continued, thanks to the project “Zu non, han DA!”. It will allow the purchase of the novelties that have been put for sale at the fair. The project is in its third year and this year, for the first time, book presentations will be organized in some of the shops attached to the programme.
