In the letter presented to the court, the prosecutor’s office accuses seven people (Jokin Unamuno, Selva Ardanaz, Adur Ramírez, Iñaki Abad, Julen Goikoetxea, Jon Ander Cob and Aratz Urrizola) of a launa “terrorist attack” and for each crime demands twelve and a half years of imprisonment, all for every 50 years. Unamuno, Ardanaz and Ramírez have been imprisoned since November.
The prosecution accuses Ardanaz of not only injuries but also "terrorist threats" and adds another twelve and a half years to the lawsuit for this: 62 and a half years in total. The eighth defendant, Ainara Urkijo, is also charged with a terrorist threat; her prison sentence is twelve and a half years.
The case was initially tried in a court in Pamplona, but has finally been transferred to the Spanish National Court, after the Supreme Court ruled that the attacks suffered by the civil guards during the clashes in Altsasu can be considered terrorism, as demanded by the association of victims Covite. The date of commencement of the trial has not yet been communicated by Carmen Lamela, the judge of the National Court that will be in charge of the case.
The relatives of the defendants are trying the case in the Pamplona Instruction 3. To get him back to court, useless for now. The issue has also been brought to the Euro-Mediterranean Conference, where 51 MEPs have publicly called for the issue to be judged proportionately and not considered terrorism.
