- Until now, the number of coronavirus deaths in Catalonia was 3,756 people, but according to the data provided this Thursday by the Generalitat is 7,097.
As explained by the Generalitat, this great leap has occurred because until now only hospital deaths were counted and now all the data that have been given of funerals are taken into account, as long as they presented symptoms of Covid-19.
The data for the deaths are therefore as follows: 3,855 are hospitals, 99 more than Wednesday; 1,810 are nursing homes, 456 are nursing homes and 62 are nursing homes. Due to lack of information, the place of the events, where there have been 99 other victims, is unknown.
In this way, and always according to official data, contagion in Catalonia would reach 39,375 people. However, it is known that this number is much larger, and today it has been mentioned for the first time that, according to symptomatology, it may reach 55,457.
