The Euskal Herria-Donbass Solidarity Committee has explained that the penalties associated with the "repressive event of Madrid's Tango-Atlético measurement" are already true. In this match of October last year, the San Mamés de Bilbao (Bizkaia) received the flag of the People's Republic of Donetsk, so an amateur was expelled from the football field. The flag was withdrawn and stolen. Then, several fans left San Mamés in solidarity with the expelled person. All this has led them to impose a number of sanctions now.

According to the communications sent by the Government of Spain to several persons, fines of EUR 3,000 have been imposed on the events that took place that day. In addition, access to sports spaces for a minimum period of one year is prohibited.

In the communication submitted, the General Commissioner for Citizen Security says that a flag with "Russian anagrams" was drawn in San Mamés that day, without making sure that "the regulations were complied with" and, therefore, without "permission" to enter the camp. Considering that this "symbology" "promotes violence", the Security Coordinator commissioned the Director of Security to launch the flag withdrawal procedure.

"This flag has been in San Mamés since 2014. On the contrary, repressive forces wait until October 2022 to commit attacks on people carrying this symbol. They have now imposed the Ukrainian flag on the television broadcasts of the Basque stadiums," the Euskal Herria-Donbass Solidarity Committee said.
