A total of twenty-three neighbours of Orereta (Gipuzkoa) have been prosecuted for protesting against the act of Citizens celebrated on April 14, 2019 in the locality of Gipuzkoa. According to the newspaper Berria, the Provincial Court of Donostia-San Sebastián may condemn sentences of between six months and three years in prison and several fines for a complaint lodged personally by Citizens and Albert Rivera.

The charges attributed to the defendants are “electoral crimes” and “actions against public order”. Rivera has used the videos he has recorded during the residency to identify the neighbors and have evidence against them in the face of the trial.

Citizens' Campaign

The party has appeared in the streets of Orereta as part of the electoral campaign for the Spanish Courts. The many neighbours were not greeted with kindness by politicians: the whistles, the screams and the noise of the pots often surpassed their own words. In addition, many Orereses also made gestures of solidarity with the Catalan political prisoners.
