It is also curious what happens in our people. We were told that the Euskadi-Murias project ended two weeks ago. Former director Jon Odriozola said in the media that during these five years the work was done well and that it was a pity that the project ended. And a few years ago, the Euskatel-Euskadi project ended. Moreover, the reality is that few states or nations such as Euskal Herria have had in the Tour the presence of the Basque nation in this world showcase in which Basque groups have participated. And now, once again, the Basque Government is going to spend a lot of money organizing the 2023 Tour stages. However, Euskal Herria will not have a presence as a nation on the 2023 Tour. At least, the curious thing is ours. When a State collaborates with the Tour it is because that State has no problems in having a presence in this globalized world.
In other words, a country is cooperating with the country of France with which cycling is its travel partner. But here, apparently, we do things the other way around. We want to show that the stage of the Basque Country Tour can be the end or the beginning at the global level. But, as a nation, we do not see the need for a Basque representation on the Tour. Curious if we look, above all, from the nationalist point of view. I would say that in Euskal Herria we are also able to take steps back, the first Basque teams on the Tour, now there is no Basque team on the Tour.
If that is not to be the case, it would not be wrong to have a national vision in politics. For example, like the one that the Basque Government had in 1936 to create a football team. Although then, for example, don’t have a new San Mamés, or an Erreale football field…
