On March 31, the Spanish National Court handed down a judgment in case 13/13. Arantza Zulueta was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison, Jon Enparantza to four years, Naia Zuriarrain to three and a half years, and Iker Sarriegi to three years. The sentence acquitted Julen Zelarain, Saioa Agirre and Nerea Redondo. The judgment, which is not yet final, can be appealed to the lawyers of the State Attorney's Office.

In July of last year, the trial of the seven defendants in case 13/13 began and prosecutor José Perals called for a total of 77 years in prison, which was withdrawn in the case of Julen Zelarain. In November, some 100 jurists denounced the irregularities that had occurred at the trial. The lawyers consider that it has been "a summary of past times" that has led to the cause.

Last week, protests against the ruling were held in Bilbao, Larrabetzu, Lekeitio and Donostia-San Sebastián, and more demonstrations against the ruling have been announced this week. Under the slogan “No to shame! “will meet on Thursday, 7 April, to hold a mass press conference before the Bilbao Court. On Saturday, April 9, demonstrations will be held from 17:30 in Bilbao from the Sacred Heart and Donostia from Sagües.
