U.S. Passes the 100,000 Dead Barrier
  • On Wednesday, the United States recorded a total of 100,047 deaths due to the crisis. By far, it has become the country with the most deaths in the world, followed by the United Kingdom (37,542), Italy (33,072) and France (28,599). As for the number of infections, it is also the first in the world, with almost 1.7 million cases.

On 1 June, 100,000 deaths were forecast, a figure that was exceeded on 27 May, when the accounts were closed. It's the new global epicenter of the coronavirus, with New York as its focus. In this state there are 29,302 people who have lost their lives and 363,836 infected. It is followed by New Jersey (11,339 deaths and 156,628 infected), Massachusetts (6,473 deaths and 93,693 infected) and Michigan (5,334 deaths and 55,611 infected).

At the beginning of the pandemic, the White House predicted between 100,000 and 240,000 victims, and the lowest forecast has already passed. The Institute for Health and Metrics Assessment (IHME) estimates that 131,000 deaths in violent incidents will be recorded in early August.
